Burmese Lacquerware snack box, cho-chin-hte, large size
Burmese Lacquerware snack box, cho-chin-hte, large size.
A cho-chin-hte, a Burmese snack box, the interior of which is split into wedge shaped compartments for a variety of snacks.
The lid depicts elaborate hand decoration in traditional Burmese style. What is particularly nice is the wonderfully detailed peacock design on the base of the box, which would normaly be left unadorned.
Please note: This is not a new box and is from around the middle of the 20th Century, so some small losses and general wear should be expected, but which all provide added character.
