Thai Buddhist Pottery - Extra large Turtle.

This is the first time we have come across this type of Buddhist pottery from the north of Thailand. This handmade earthenware is really striking.

In this case, we have a very large pottery turtle who's back is absolutely covered in a myriad of individually stamped votive tablets of Buddha. Depicted are different styles of classic votive tablets produced in clay for hundreds of years in Thailand. A really special piece.

Small imperfections in a sculpture like this should be expected.
