Thai Lanna style Seated Buddha, Large approx 63cm high, SSP700.

This seated Buddha is hand carved in wood with an antiqued cream finish with real gold leaf and coloured mirror glass decoration. Lanna style. Made in Thailand. Please note: with these kind of pieces there may be some minor damage or minor losses to the glass decoration. This should be expected, but the item you are buying is always the actual one shown in the photograph.

Seated on a low gilded pedestal base. This serene Buddha's hands are in the gesture of Bhumisparsa Mudra - the symbol of touching the earth; calling the earth to witness. In Thai it is better known as the subduing Mara position - Mara being the demon that tried to prevent the Buddha attaining enlightenment. The legs are in full lotus position.
