Thai metal Chinarat Buddha statue, gold finish, 28cm high, CM6044.

A nicely detailed seated Buddha in brass metal with a beautiful gold finish. Made in Thailand.

Seated on a raised pedestal base. This serene Buddha's hands are in the gesture of Bhumisparsa Mudra - the symbol of touching the earth; calling the earth to witness. In Thai it is better known as the subduing Mara position - Mara being the demon that tried to prevent the Buddha attaining enlightenment. The legs are in half lotus position.

All our Buddhas are legally imported under license issued by the Department of Fine Arts in the Ministry of Culture in Thailand, for the protection of Thailand's cultural heritage.
