Burmese lacquerware offering vessel, known as hsun ok or soon-oke, black, 98cm high.

This beautiful lacquerware vessel made in bamboo and lacquer is constructed in 3 main parts, opening to reveal a cinnabar coloured compartment. Although a modern piece, it is deliberately made with some wear and tear to provide more character. The top piece is detachable for safer transport.

The beautiful shape resembles a pagoda. Fabulous proportions and an elegant black design.

Traditionally such vessels are used to present food to a monastery, but makes a wonderful, timeless, decorative piece. A great decorator's piece.

These are not often found in the UK - particularly on this scale.

Size:
98cm high.
47cm diameter.
