Cambodian Rice Sickle, Framed Display, 76cm x 56cm.

A very attractive framed Cambodian Rice Sickle, in a contemporary box frame, behind glass.

These sickles were traditionally used in the rice fields, with the hooked part used to gather a sheaf of rice which could then be cut by the iron blade. The sickles are hand carved in wood, with decorative carving to the hook. These are modern examples.

They form an impressive display of substantial size. Each piece is housed in a frame 76cm high x 56cm wide x c. 6cm deep. Each framed piece weighs approximately 6.5kg.

The frame is wood with a brushed gold finish to the edge, and a brown card surround with gold border. Steel hanging cord is fitted to rear.

A very attractive decorator's piece for either home or business.
